The coat is often silky and dense, and can be short or long and feathery. Your dog may have the butterfly-like fringed wings of the Continental Toy Spaniel or the smooth ears of the Fox Terrier Smooth, which may be straight or droop forward. The tail is often furry and carried over the back. Smooth Fox Terriers used to have their tails docked, but this practice is illegal in many countries. The eyes are small and dark, and the nose is black. |
