I saw you for the 1st time when you were barely 6 years old; you were a little puppy who did nothing but mischief, I told everyone that you were my dog and not mine ...

You went through the same ordeals as I did until I was 18, which is now.

Today you're 12 and your little heart's not doing so well, you're suffering, you can't sleep at night and you're coughing constantly.

Why is it okay to put down a dog and not a human???

Because for me you're not just a dog, you're my sister and I love you, you're the only memory I have of grandpa, of the big house, of running away in the middle of the night, of parents still happy together, and so on!

I'm going to miss you my little darling, I'll never forget you, take care of grandpa up there, give him a little lick for me and don't forget to give him your paw when he strokes you, he loved that.

I'll be joining you in a few years, don't worry, I won't forget you...
