This breed is also known as
Cani de Lèpuri
A hardy, medium-sized sighthound, perfect for hunting, difficult selection has forged an exceptional dog both physically and in terms of stamina. It has a lean, muscular body.

The average height at the withers varies from 60 cm to 70 cm for 17-25 kg. It has a small head with a muzzle that is almost twice the length of the skull, large eyes and a prominent nose. The ears may be rosette-shaped or fully erect. The teeth are generally impressive, with highly developed canines (a feature shared with other Sardinian breeds). Coat is satiny or short, soft to the touch, and can be sandy (very common and appreciated), black, spotted, white, striped in various shades and gray.

Perfect hunting dogs, with highly developed predatory instincts. Although the character is very gentle, he remains reserved and very independent in some respects remains wild.

The number of specimens is very low, and a desperate attempt to recover them has begun.
