Appearance of the Mini Foxillon

| A Mini Foxillon is a small, well-balanced dog that inherits the physical characteristics of both its parent breeds. It generally weighs between 2.5 and 4 kilos and reaches a height of 20.5 to 28 centimeters. The most striking feature of this breed is its erect bat ears, set high on its small head. Mini Foxillons also have dark, round eyes and a black or brown nose. Their delicate muzzles are tapered and complemented by a clean scissor bite. This breed comes in multicolored combinations of black, white, red and fawn, with a sable pattern possible. Mini Foxillons tend to have short to medium-length coats, straight and silky to the touch. If the dog resembles the Continental Toy Spaniel parent, it may have light feathering around the ears, feet, legs and belly. |

Needs and activities of the Mini Foxillon

| The Mini Foxillon is an athletic breed that requires moderate daily exercise that equates to around 20 to 45 minutes of activity per day. They can enjoy a walk, a trip to the dog park depending on their temperament, and/or a game of fetch with their owners. They are fast, agile runners with a tendency to roam and chase, so owners should not leave Mini Foxillons unsupervised when outdoors or in unfenced areas. Otherwise, Mini Foxillons do well in all types of climates and environments. In fact, they are particularly suited to urban and/or apartment living as long as they receive sufficient human attention. Mini Foxillons are really happiest when they get a good dose of bonding time with their owners, whatever the activity. |
Maintenance of the Mini Foxillon

| Mini Foxillons are not a hypoallergenic breed and are therefore not suitable for owners of pets with allergies. Their silky coat varies from short to medium, sheds moderately and requires occasional grooming with a blade or smoother brush. If your Mini Foxillon's coat is particularly long, owners can trim the feathered parts around the eyes, ears and legs to avoid infections or impediments to mobility. This breed requires a monthly bath in which the ears and eyes are meticulously cleaned. Like all breeds, Mini Foxillons must also have their teeth cleaned daily to prevent plaque build-up and other dental diseases. |
