To my late Moune

To my late Moune

You are in the distance of my memories, my pretty three-colored cat.

You were my daily companion, you knew all my childhood secrets, you who saw me grow up in my little house nestled at the bottom of this garden of love.

You, Moune, were the mistress of this animal kingdom.

You were always there to console me for all my sorrows.

You slept with me every night, snuggled up close to me, and your gentle purring soon put me to sleep.

You had lots of little ones, each one more beautiful than the next, and you made a hullabaloo of them when the mating season came, helping me to discover the mysteries of life.

And then I grew up, met my lover and left the little garden of love.

You, Moune, remained there, very distraught.

So you went wherever your old legs wanted to take you, and you got run over by a car.
