| You've been in heaven for 10 months already. I saw you on an animal website, you were at the shelter. Your gentle gaze touched me right away. I looked everywhere for good people to adopt you, but I couldn't find anyone. So I said to myself “I'm going to the shelter to take you for a walk”. At first alone, then with my husband. But it wasn't easy to hold on to you because you wanted to go for a walk so much, you had to hold on with both hands. It lasted 6 months. Every time I took you back to the shelter after the walks, it was a blow to my heart. When we'd leave, you'd be hanging on to the fence, and it would break my heart. It wasn't planned to adopt you, there was already Finette, then you weren't educated at all, for me it wasn't a problem, I saw you with the eyes of my heart. My husband, on the other hand, thought that I'd never be able to make a go of you. He already loved you, he just didn't know it yet. I'll always remember when he said yes to the adoption and we went to the mountains, the mountains you loved so much. I cried tears of happiness. Then came the day of your adoption, and you almost pulled me off the floor to get into the car. From that moment on, we've all been very happy. I had to take lessons from an educator, but after a year you were well educated. You were so proud in the car when we left for lessons, you did everything you could to be a good kid. You were exceptional, you wanted to please me, you succeeded, you believed in me, and I believed in you, my brave boy. Of course, before we adopted you, we introduced you to Finette. You got to know our three grandchildren. The last little one was two and a half, and you had a real chemistry with him. The last 7 months you had health problems, diabetes, you had to have two injections a day, I panicked, I didn't know that, I had had many dogs, but never with diabetes. Like the good little boy you were, you'd come to the fridge when I went to get the insulin, sit down and wait, as if to say to me: “Don't worry, just do it! Don't worry, just give me my shot. Later you went blind. Dad cried a lot. Even blind, you were happy, I'm sure. You used to play with Finette, you were a bit clumsier, I have some wonderful videos of the two of you playing. I also have some of baby giving you a treat, which you took with great gentleness, like the brave kid you were. During the last week, you still liked to run a little on the leash, I complimented you, you were so proud. You brought us so much happiness. Once a month, we did the tests to adjust the insulin, but the disease won out. I so wanted to have you a little longer, you were 11 years old. You're resting in the garden, with all my other animals, and every day I come to say hello to you, I put down a flower, now there are edelweiss, depending on the season. After you left, it was very hard, nothing can replace you, you were such a good kid. Wait for me on the other side, one day we'll see each other again. I love you so much. I miss you so much. |
