In tribute to

To Rocky, who went to heaven on October 26, 2004

Thanks to

Dan

You left us today, this October 26, 2004, it's as if someone had taken a piece of my heart, I'm all lost, it hurts so much Rocky, you were my companion, my accomplice, full of love in your eyes, full of kindness, always ready to go for a walk or to cuddle, you were a fantastic dog but life decided otherwise.

You had a herniated disc, you were paralyzed in the back legs, the vet came, she said it was a thrombosis, we gave you aspirin for a month and then miracle you walked again.

We were happy, everything was going better, you were back to normal and then two weeks ago it happened again, she came back and diagnosed you with thrombosis again, then we thought it was weird, at night you started screaming so we phoned the vet who didn't know what to do, she said she was powerless against your ailment.

Then we went to Brussels to see a specialist who told us you were doomed because your spinal cord had been affected. He wanted to euthanize you but we didn't want to, so we took you back with us.

We went to the Prince Laurent Foundation, which referred us to a specialist because they didn't know what to do, you were too badly affected.

And today you went to see a 3rd specialist who said there was nothing more to be done, we begged him to operate, he said it wasn't a thrombosis but a hernia that had developed and was going up into the spinal cord and that if you were kept alive, you would suffer enormously because according to him you had already been very brave because you had already suffered in silence and that for you to go with dignity, you had to be euthanized.

And that was the most painful question we've ever been asked, it was almost as if we had to play the role of God, your dog is alive and you have to decide to euthanize him because he's going to suffer in the next few days, because the infection is going to his head, his cervicals.

My God, I love you, my little Rockitou, as we used to call you, you were sweetness itself, we still wanted to take you in but it wouldn't have been worthy of you to make you suffer.

So on October 26, 2004, around 6:30 a.m., you fell asleep with the last caresses to the end, I miss you so much my Rockitou, be happy in dog heaven because there you won't suffer anymore and you'll make lots of friends on this wonderful site and I pay tribute to all your friends on the Milouchouchou site.

I'll never forget you, you were only three years old and you were a beautiful French Bulldog, a ball of love, I hope one day to get over the pain because it hurts so much in my throat to cry.

We love you Rocky d'amour.

Adieu.

You my Rocky, my little white ball of love
You who made us laugh and happy
You who looked at us with your little eyes full of love
You were always there when we needed your cuddles
You were so kind and friendly, you were part of us, part of our family, part of our hearts, part of our joys.

Since you've been gone, there's not a day that goes by that we don't think of you.

We miss you so, so much

One promise I can make you is that we'll never, ever forget you, and the only thing I can say is that we're sorry to have lost you so soon, because without you, it's a void, a little piece of us that's gone.

We love you Rocky and you'll always be in our hearts.
