Everything is beautifully said

My dear human :

I see that you are crying, because it is time for me to leave. Please don't cry. I want to explain some things to you.

You are sad because I am leaving, but I am glad to have met you.

How many dogs like me die every day without ever meeting someone special like you?

I know you are saddened by my departure, but I must go now.

I want to ask you not to blame yourself for anything. I heard you sobbing that you should have done more for me. Don't say that; you have done so much for me! Without you, I would never have known the love I carry with me today.

You should know that we animals live in the present moment intensely and are very wise: we cherish every little thing each day and quickly forget the bad past. Our lives begin when we experience love, the same love you gave me throughout my all-too-short life.

Know that even if you find an animal gravely injured and only have a short time to spend with them in this world, you are doing an enormous service by accompanying them on their final journey.

None of us likes to be alone, so perhaps it doesn't seem so important to you that one of you is by our side, stroking us and holding our paw, helping us go in peace, and yet it is!

No more crying, please. I am leaving happy. I remember the name you gave me and the warmth of your home, which, in this moment, has become mine. I hear the sound of your voice speaking to me, even if I don't always understand what you're saying.

I carry in my heart all the caresses you gave me. Everything you did was so precious to me, and I thank you endlessly. I don't know how to express it, because I don't speak your language, but surely you can see my gratitude in my eyes.

I'm just going to ask you to start smiling again. Remember how strong my love for you is, remember the silly things I did to cheer you up. Relive, as I do, all the beautiful things we shared together.

And don't say you'll never adopt another animal because you're suffering too much from my leaving. Without you, I wouldn't have experienced the beautiful things I have.

Please, don't do that! There are many like me waiting for someone like you. Give them what you gave me, please; they need it as much as I needed you.

Don't hold back the love you have to give, for fear of suffering. Take my advice: cherish the good you shared with me and share it with others. Remember that without people like you, our lives would be even harder than they sometimes are.

Follow your noble task; now it's my turn to be your guardian angel. I will walk with you and help you care for others as I do.

I will speak to the other animals who are here with me, I will tell them all you have done for me, and I will proudly say, "They are my family."

Tonight, when you look up at the sky and see a twinkling star, I want you to know that it's me blinking to let you know I've arrived safely and to say, "Thank you for all the love you've given me."
