She's caramel-colored and wonderfully beautiful
She's my little girl, my little Cocker Spaniel dog
I love her because her ear listens to my pain
I love her because she brings me joy in this world of hate...

With her I'm never alone
I can cry and with her big eyes, she guesses...

Sometimes I read stories about dogs
Sad stories that make me feel good
Because they make me appreciate my sweet Fannie
She takes up all the room in my bed
She snores so much she wakes me up at night
But she brings so much happiness to the house...
