Descended from hybrid breeds, the Highlander is a magnificent feline reminiscent of the Lynx.
The Highlander is a recent and still very rare breed. It was developed in the United States in 2004 and is derived from various hybrid cat breeds (crosses between a wild cat and a domestic cat) such as the Desert Lynx and the Jungle Curl.

General appearance
A large cat with curved ears and a short tail, Highlanders have a unique look! As a companion, the Highlander will astonish you with its cheerfulness and mad desire to play. They're full of energy and affection for their owners.
Highlanders generally get on well with other cats, making them perfect playmates.

Behavior / characteristics
As well as having a unique and intriguing appearance, the Highlander also has a formidable character. At once intelligent, playful and uniquely good-humored, this is a particularly affectionate cat who loves to be in his master's arms.
Its sociable behavior is sometimes akin to that of a dog, as the Highlander welcomes visitors warmly and follows its master everywhere.
Active and energetic most of the time, a tiny apartment might not be ideal for him.
