The Mazandarani Sage Dog is a large breed of dog that is separated into two different size categories.
Those traditionally used to hunt bears are considered the larger of the two, while those used to hunt big cats are generally more learner and lighter. The average height of this breed is 71 centimetres.
Regardless of the category they fall into, both Alabai types are strong and well-boned, with powerful bodies, muzzles and jaws, and strong, sturdy legs.
Although some dogs don't have it, most Mazandarani Wise have cropped ears and tails.
The breed has a medium-length coat that comes in a variety of colors, but are generally white with dark patches. In very rare cases, the dog may be black, in which case it is considered the most valuable.

The Mazandarani sage is an ancient breed of dog found in northern Iran.
They are thought to be a descendant of ancient Hyrcanian Mastiffs crossed with local breeds guarding livestock.
The breed is mainly considered a working dog and was originally imported to Russia as a bear hunter.

The Mazandarani Sage is considered a very aggressive breed of dog and is still used today to hunt large prey such as bears and leopards.
Their ability to hunt means they are both brave and fearless, but also highly territorial and protective.
Although the Mazandarani Sage is friendly, affectionate and loving with its owners, it doesn't do well with strangers or with other dogs or animals.

The Mazandarani sage has a medium-length coat that requires occasional brushing and grooming. Regular brushing is necessary to minimize shedding.
Unfortunately, the Alabai is not a common dog breed, and little is known about the diseases and conditions that are common to the breed.
That said, they undergo regular veterinary examinations, like any other breed, to rule out any conditions common to all dogs.
