A brief presentation of the Labrador Husky
The Labrador Husky is a special breed of dog. It's often confused with a Husky-Lab mix, but in fact it's its own breed. The Labrador Husky was originally brought to Labrador, Canada, in the 1300s by the Inuit people. Its main purpose was to help the Inuit survive in a very demanding environment. To this end, the Labrador Husky was trained to pull sledges carrying goods. Labrador Huskies are known as large but gentle dogs. The breed can grow larger than the best-known Siberian Husky, weighing between 27 and 45 kilos. This dog has been domesticated by families to serve as the family pet. Labrador Huskies are good with children when well trained, and need a committed owner to provide for their needs. Some of these needs include proper grooming, which means regular brushing of its thick double coat to ensure maintenance. This breed tends to have serious health problems, including hip dysplasia, but generally they will live to between 10 and 13 years of age.

History of the Labrador Husky
The Labrador Husky originated in the Labrador part of the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Labrador is the northern, mainland part of the province. The breed probably arrived in the region with the Thule Inuit, who came to Canada around 1300 AD. Although they were once closely related to other northern breeds, such as the Siberian Husky, they isolated themselves in Labrador and continued to develop on their own. Their history of being bred with wolves does not mean they are wolfdogs, and they have no recent wolf ancestry. However, they still retain some of their wolf-like physical characteristics. Although they were isolated, some Labradorians introduced Alaskan Malamute blood to improve their sledding skills and, later, for training purposes, the German Shepherd Dog. This created another sled dog that bears a striking resemblance to the Siberian Husky, but is much larger and more wolf-like. This breed had helped people drive sleds until the invention of snowmobiles. From then on, it was much less common for the dog to be used as a sled dog to drive heavy loads. These days, it's often the case that the breed is seen in dog races or helping to find and rescue lost people. However, most people now have dogs as pets.
        

A little of the Labrador Retriever

         
Despite its name, the Labrador Retriever is not native to Labrador, but is actually thought to have originated in Newfoundland. Most agree that its ancestor is the St. John's Water Dog, an extinct breed originally from Newfoundland and anecdotally more at home in the water than on land. Historically, the Labrador Retriever was used to hunt on both dry and wet land, making it a favorite of local fishermen. Of course, many still use the Labrador Retriever for this purpose today, although the breed has developed into a multitude of other disciplines. Labrador Retrievers can be seen as therapy dogs, guide dogs for the blind and even drug detectors at airports and ferry terminals. In fact, the Labrador Retriever is such a successful breed that it now features in the top ten list of popular dogs in many countries around the world.

A little of the Siberian Husky
Siberian Huskies are medium-sized, intelligent, gentle and friendly dogs. They were originally bred by the Chukchi Indians in the Soviet Arctic and provided them with an essential means of survival, serving both as transport sled dogs and hunting aids. Today, they continue to be used as sled dogs, but are also excellent companions for active households, as they have great stamina and need plenty of exercise.

Appearance of the Labrador Husky
The Labrador Husky has a temperament similar to that of other northern breeds, such as the Siberian Husky, Alaskan Husky, Alaskan Malamute, Canadian Eskimo Dog and so on. They rarely bark, but tend to howl. The breed can be friendly and non-aggressive with strangers and behaves well if properly socialized. They are also good at getting along with family members and are intelligent, loyal animals. These dogs often do equally well with children, especially if they are raised together with them. Being with other dogs makes them happier because they are bred to work well in a pack. However, its strong prey drive could make it dangerous for owners to have small pets, but if they meet at an early age, they should be safe. In general, it's necessary for dog owners to be the leader of their pack. Owners of wolf-hybrid dogs like this breed are encouraged to understand the importance of being pack leaders more deeply. In addition, owners need a lot of time to care for the dogs, as they require a lot of exercise and owner attention as well as mental stimulation.

Temperament of the Labrador Husky
This breed has been around for hundreds of years and has become a unique breed due to its isolation from other northern dog breeds over this period. Labrador Huskies were used for transportation for many years until the advent of the snowmobile. Today, in the isolated communities of northern Labrador, sterilization is extremely costly and logistically difficult. Dog breeding is therefore largely uncontrolled. This has resulted in a wide variety of Labrador Husky mixes. It's not known how many purebred Labrador Huskys are left in their native region, but most mixes retain that characteristic wolf-like facial shape. Of all northern dog breeds, the Labrador Husky is one of the rarest, with fewer than 50 to 60 pure-bred Labrador Huskies in Labrador. As a result, the breed is not well understood by many dog breeders.

Needs and activities of the Labrador Husky
Born to work, the Labrador Husky is an active dog that likes to have a purpose. They are intelligent and enjoy training, are eager to learn and learn quickly. The Labrador Husky has a fantastic work ethic and good social relationships with other dogs. Colder climates suit them best, but they are adaptable. Apartment living is probably not for them, as they have too much energy and need space to let off steam and play. They need a brisk walk every day and some training. But that's not all for the Labrador Husky, they'll be the first to join a match and the last to finish. Athletic, playful and easy to train, this is a dog to push hard, and if you live in an area where it snows, you'll have a fantastic dog to pull your sled.

Maintenance of the Labrador Husky
Labrador Huskys need intensive grooming all year round. Its extremely thick and durable coat, also known as double-layered, was made to be able to withstand the harsh winters in Labrador Canada. Daily brushing is necessary to maintain the coat. A bath is sometimes the best way to groom and clean the dog. Bathing the dog doesn't have to be done on a regular basis, but is important to ensure a clean, well-groomed dog. It's also essential for a Labrador Husky owner to check for fleas and ticks during the warmer months. Because this dog has such a thick coat, it's the ideal place for a tick or flea to nestle. Failure to check for these things can lead to serious problems such as Lyme disease, which can be fatal for the dog. The Labrador Husky sheds constantly throughout the year, so it's important to keep up with its grooming.
