The Mammut Bulldog is a recreation of the original long-haired working bulldog of the 1800s. The modern Mammut is originally a German line composed of 100% Bulldogs, including American Bulldog, Bandogge, English Bulldog, Olde English Bulldogge and Bullmastiff.

The wedge-shaped head is of medium length with a pronounced muzzle. It has a broad skull and pronounced cheek bones. Ears are high. All types of ears are permitted. The nose is black, brown or liver-colored, depending on the pigment. Oval eyes are dark. The muzzle is square, broad and deep with a strong appearance and close-fitting cheeks. It has an undershot or scissor bite and is not at fault for broken teeth. The neck is muscular, slightly arched from shoulder to head, narrowing and free of loose skin at the throat. The chest is deep with closed ribs. The thighs are of medium size, with well-developed muscles, joints with correct angulation (around 30 degrees) and a parallel position. The joints are fairly stiff but not overbuilt. The back is strong, with a slightly sloping croup and a slight depression behind the withers. The tail is low, reaching to the hocks, permissible in all shapes, but a straight, intact tail without folds is preferable. Tight or deformed tails are docked, but the breed must not be altered in any other way (no ear clipping or claw removal). The long coat is thick and often appears as feathering around the ears, back of legs and tail. All coat colors are permitted, but pure white dogs are excluded from breeding.

The Mammut Bulldog is loyal, bold and fearless. It is confident and intelligent with a strong character. This breed has a medium to high prey drive. It excels in many sports and makes a good working dog, from agility to protection training and beyond. It's a gentle family dog that makes an excellent companion. This breed is good with children. It has a high pain tolerance. Owners should adopt a determined, consistent and loving approach while remaining calm. If the dog senses that you are weaker than he is, he will become stubborn, believing it is his job to run the house. They make wonderful pets for the assertive owner who displays the right amount of leadership. Good communication between human and dog is essential.

The Mammut Bulldog does best living indoors close to its family. Unlike many other types of bulldog, the Mammut Bulldog can tolerate a wider range of colder and warmer temperatures.

This breed should be taken daily. When walking, the dog should be heeled beside or behind the person holding the leash, because in a dog's mind, the leader leads the way, and that leader must be the human. These dogs do best with active families and make great working dogs.

The short coat is easy to groom. Comb and brush with a firm bristle brush and bathe only when necessary. This breed is a medium excretor.

Height at withers : 45 - 55 cm, weight : 18 - 27 kg.
