A brief presentation of the Banter Bulldogge
The Banter Bulldogge is a specific crossbreed with a good temperament, obedient and easy to train. A cross between a pure-bred Boxer and various Bulldog breeds, these solid medium-to-large dogs are playful and loving, loyal and rather protective. They get on well with children and are happy to play a few challenging games. They can adapt to apartment life as long as they have a long daily walk. The Banter Bulldogge is best suited to a home with a secure yard for playing and patrolling. Use positive training methods and be consistent with your commands. Make sure training is fun and don't make each session too long. You want to keep them eager to learn. Use praise and rewards to encourage good behavior. They're alert and vigilant, and they're good watchdogs, warning you of strangers. This dog is fun for the family, always ready to play, eager to please and a pleasure to own.

History of the Banter Bulldogge
The Banter Bulldogge is the result of Todd Tripp's work in southeastern Ohio to recreate the Brabanter Bullenbeisser of 1700. Also known as the Brabant in central Belgium, this dog was a favorite of working and family dogs at the time until the early 1800s. Tripp was very selective in the dogs he chose to be the basis of his new breed. Most were Boxers and a variety of working Bulldog breeds, such as AmStaff and American Bulldog. The high percentage of Boxer and his precise selection process when choosing dogs for the breed enabled him to achieve his ultimate goal. An infusion of English Bulldogge type introduced more white color into the breed. The Banter Bulldogge got its name from its good-natured, witty and cheerful temperament. Banter was therefore used to imply these attributes in the dog. The name also recognizes the Brabanter Bullenbeisser, the dogs of early Belgium in the 1700s that inspired Todd Tripp to begin his crusade to recreate the older Bulldog type. For a dog that is tough and wary of strangers, they are remarkably gentle and kind to their families. They are loyal and protective, but not aggressive. This dog has a happy outlook on life and loves to be included in all family activities. They come in a range of colors, from fawn to black, red and brindle. Some, but not all, have this lovely black mask.

Appearance of the Banter Bulldogge
The Banter Bulldogge is muscular and solidly built, weighing up to 39 kilos. They have a powerful appearance with their boxy head with a pronounced stop separating the muzzle and skull. The jaws are strong and scissor-like or even pincers. Combine this with intense, rounded eyes that don't miss a trick, and you're looking at an impressive dog. The Banter Bulldogge's body is muscular, with a thick, solid neck that gives a compact body structure, a deep chest and muscular legs well placed under the dog. Their ears are short and rounded, while the tail is high and long, resembling a whip. Color can vary from fawn to red to brindle to black, with all colors having a variable amount of white, usually up to about 30% of their coloration. Some dogs have black masks, but all have the characteristic wrinkled forehead that gives them an air of strong concentration. Fortunately, their nature is gentle and they are affectionate dogs.

Temperament of the Banter Bulldogge
Easy to train and very obedient, the Banter Bulldogge is eager to please its owner. Although they look tough and tough, they have a true happy nature, although they will warn you of strangers lurking around and protect family members if the opportunity arises. They love to play with other dogs and can be a little rough and boisterous, but never vindictive. Well socialized, they will get on well with most creatures, but can sometimes chase smaller creatures. They need an owner who is the pack leader, someone they respect and who has natural authority, while remaining calm and confident. They adapt well to most living situations, even an apartment, although they need at least one daily walk to burn off some energy. They make ideal companions for most people because they are so willing to please and form close bonds with their families. Solid and reliable, they are loyal and have boundless affection to offer the lucky owner.

Needs and activities of the Banter Bulldogge
The Banter Bulldogge requires a good physical workout every day, as well as a brisk daily walk. They make good jogging companions, love hiking, enjoy water fun and adore playing with children. They are so friendly within the family group that it's hard to imagine life without them. Inside the house, they're quieter, but not afraid to jump on the bed with the kids or play a game of chase that you'll have to face and calm everyone down before the house is destroyed. Although they look tough and almost get that bully, they really are a marshmallow when it comes to cuddles and affection. This dog is easy to train because it's ready to please its owner. Use gentle methods and lots of praise, and they'll do their best to please you.

Maintenance of the Banter Bulldogge
Care and grooming for the Banter Bulldogge is easy, a quick combing or brushing of the coat to remove loose hairs and you're almost done. There's no need to bathe him regularly, just when they get a bit stinky. Be sure to use a soap specially formulated for dogs to avoid stripping off all the natural oils. Alternatively, you can rub them with a damp cloth that will take care of any odors or dirt. Examine their ears and keep them clean, trim their nails carefully, don't cut too close as you won't hurt your dog, and familiarize your dog with brushing his teeth regularly, this is easier to do when it's a puppy. The Banter Bulldogge is a medium fleece with a short, smooth coat that's easy to care for, easily detects parasites and always looks well dressed.
