| The Pencil-tailed Feist is a hunting breed belonging to the terrier group. Possessing an exceptional hunting instinct, it is primarily used for hunting small game such as rodents and deer. The Pencil-tailed Feist has a pleasant temperament: fearless, eager to please, lively, and loyal. It is generally easy to train, but like all Feists, it needs a firm, energetic, and gentle owner. Its height ranges from 35 to 58 cm (14 to 22 inches) and its weight from 5.5 to 16 kg (12 to 35 lbs). Its lifespan is 10 to 12 years. The breed's history is uncertain, but some sources place it in Spain. Its head has a rather round skull and a medium-length muzzle. Its eyes are small and dark. It is a sociable, intelligent, well-balanced, fearless, eager to please, lively, and loyal dog. It could be an intelligent dog, capable of hunting and tracking game. |
