The Larye is a now-extinct dog breed that was created in France by Monsieur de Larye. It was a pack hound renowned for its exceptional sense of smell. Little information is available about this breed, other than the fact that it contributed to the creation of the Billy before dying out.

All that remains of two now-extinct scent hound breeds—the Larye and the Montemboeuf—lives on in the DNA of the Billy, a French breed resulting from a cross between them, the Céris, and the Poitevin (a breed that still exists).
