This breed is also known as			Ainu Dog Hokkaido Dog

The Aizu is an ancient and rare Japanese Spitz breed, known for its muscular build, erect ears, and curled tail. Originally used for hunting large game (especially bears) and guarding, it is renowned for its tenacity, courage, and loyalty to its owner. Possessing a strong hunting instinct and a wild nature, it is considered a national monument in Japan. Its appearance is similar to other Japanese breeds like the Akita, but it has distinct characteristics, sometimes noted for its blue-black tongue. It has the typical Ainu look, with imposing musculature. Its splayed legs give it a figure-eight shape, like a papier-mâché dog. It has a broad chest, a thick muzzle, a slightly short abdomen, erect ears, and a curled tail. Its coat is short and its color is not subject to any particular restrictions. On white markings, the coat color is more realistic. It is a very powerful dog with a very strong hunting instinct. It is loyal only to its master, obedient, tenacious, and courageous. Its hunting instinct is highly developed and its energy boundless.
